Rest, Regroup, refocus, resist.
Rest, Regroup, Refocus, Resist.
I woke up this morning and landed on this picture with these words on it, and it hit home. Sometimes I feel silly telling people to come see me while it feels like the world is on fire. But ultimately, I remember a lesson I have learned the hard way a few times before..we must care for ourselves and each other even if and when the world in on metaphorical or literal fire.
It reminds me of another conversation I had with a friend a few weeks ago. We talked about going for walks, embracing nature and creating art during these times and how important these things truly are for our spirits. Every day things happen and I am a little more scared than I was the day before. But, every day, I still have to get up and keep living. The world keeps on spinning, the bills still pile up, the birds sing, the body needs nourishment, the kids keep being kids and so on..
So, wherever you are during these times, I hope you are safe, I hope you get to find joy and hear the birds sing and I hope you find the strength to resist what you believe to be wrong in this world. I hope you know it is ok and normal to take the day off, to eat cereal for dinner, to cry, to skip the shower, etc. We are all trying to survive these new times the best way we know how.
With a heart full of love and resistance,
Anna
