“The thaw”

The thaw

Oh how life mimics nature. I was walking down the beach towards the end of February looking at this giant lake that is on the cusp of thawing and I couldn’t deny how much it reminded me of life.

As winter departs and the sun rises earlier and sets later, a lot of us start to feel the pull to “start again”. Maybe that’s the home project you’ve been thinking about all winter, sowing seeds inside as you dream about the bounty of summer produce or feeling the temperatures are rising enough to start your daily walks once again. Whatever it is, it’s so nice we get to “thaw”, to let the sun warm our bodies, to let our spring and summer minds run wild.

As you start to lean into the thawing of our winter and feel balmy weather approach, take some time to reflect on what seeds you would like to plant this season. And I don’t mean literal. What seeds are you planting in this stage of life? What bounty will you look forward to enjoying when temperatures warm up?
